Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning

The American School of Technology is an approved training sponsor for the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Our Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning/Refrigeration program utilizes the ContrenConnect curriculum developed by NCCER. ContrenConnect is an interactive web-based tool that partners textbooks and internet-driven materials to give the student a multi-dimensional learning experience.

Medical Assisting

Enjoy a career in one of the fastest growing fields in the fast-paced world of medicine. Enroll in Medical Assisting and learn to draw blood, give injections, perform EKGs, sterilize instruments and other tasks vital to the medical community. You will also gain a wide variety of administrative abilities that will keep the medical office running.

Our Medical Assistant program takes under a year to finish and, upon successful completion, you will earn a diploma. The Medical Assistant program at AST is accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.CAAHEP.org), upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants endowment (AAMAE). Medical Assistant training from AST qualifies you to take the Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) exam.

Medical Billing and Coding

No interest in clinical work, but still want to be in a medical setting? Enroll in Medical Billing and Coding training. Gain the ICD/CPT skills you need to handle billing and coding in today’s medical office. You will also be able to perform the telephone triage and computer activities needed to round out your employability.

Job positions available to Medical Billing and Coding graduates may include, but are not be limited to, Medical Office Administrator, Medical Records Coder, Patient Record-Keeping Specialist, Medical Secretary, Medical Receptionist or Unit Clerk in doctor’s offices, hospitals, insurance companies and other medical practice facilities.

Personal Fitness Trainer

The American School of Technology utilizes program curriculum and materials developed by the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). The program features high-quality, best-in-class educational resources and materials from various publishers coupled with the robust lesson-plan and assessment materials created by NASM fitness experts. The lesson plans, presented in both hourly and topical formats, provide a flexible structure that specifically develops critical fitness skills.

Students will benefit from the activities created by fitness experts that have occupational relevant themes. The program was developed and is updated on an annual basis by a team of educators, fitness experts and employers experienced in personal fitness training.

American School of Technology is proudly located in Columbus, Ohio.

Our training facility provides classrooms, laboratories, administrative offices, student lounge and a resource area. All classrooms are well-lighted and ventilated for student comfort. The classrooms are equipped for discussions and demonstrations, and audio-visual aids are used in many areas of the curriculum. The most important asset to our instructional programs is our competent instructional staff.

Each instructor has the educational credentials, working knowledge, field experience, ability, willingness and patience to train students to meet their educational objectives. The typical class size is approximately twenty (20) students; the maximum is thirty (30). Classes are conducted in combination lecture/laboratory rooms.
